COUNTRIES

Each country where IGSM ministers has unique opportunities and challenges. We find that many of our donors and supporters have a heart to what we are doing in a specific country. This provides a more focused opportunity for prayer and personal involvement.

IGSM is honored to direct your support to a specific country/project.

Thank you for partnering with us.

Nigeria

Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa with almost 200 million people. It is the seventh most populous country in the world. It has the largest number of Christians of any country in Africa (over 90 million).

Nigeria is a country of great contrasts with a great deal of poverty but at the same time based on Gross Domestic Product it is the richest country in Africa.

IGSM began training and equipping Christian leaders in Nigeria in 2010. In 2018, 27 students graduated in Ugep, a city in the eastern part of the country.

Ethiopia

Ethiopia is the second largest country in Africa by population. Ethiopians are very proud of the fact that it is the only African country never to have been brought under colonial control.

In 2000 Ethiopia was considered the third-poorest country in the world. However, what has happened since is nothing short of miraculous. It is currently the third-fastest growing country in the world economically.

Ethiopia was one of the first sub-Saharan African countries to adopt Christianity and traces its roots to the first century. Today Ethiopia has one of the fastest growth rates  for Protestant churches in the world. Pentecostal Christianity has grown from about 1 percent in 1960 to over 25% today.

IGSM began its ministry in Ethiopia in 2016

Kenya

Henry & Bev Klopp began ministry work in Kenya in 1989 when Bev held crusades in eight different tribes. Our current coordinators are a pastor who helped in those crusades and his son who Bev led to the Lord in 1989.

Known for its incredible wildlife Kenya is a very diverse country with more than 60 different languages spoken in the country – the official languages being Swahili and English.

Christianity is predominant in the country and represents about 85% of the total population.

IGSM has been teaching in Kenya since it first started.

Zambia

Zambia, like Rwanda is a landlocked country in East Africa that shares borders with eight other countries. Even though it has incredible natural resources (primarily copper) it is one of the poorest countries in Africa. Zambia is officially a Christian country with Protestant churches representing over 75% of the population. Zambia is where the famous Protestant missionary David Livingstone did much of his ministry.

IGSM is relatively new to Zambia, beginning classes there in 2018.

Rwanda

Rwanda is called “The Land of a Thousand Hills.” Rwanda had complete rebuilt itself since the horrible atrocities that took place during the genocide of 1994. It has become a major success story in terms of both economic and social development.

Rwanda is noted for being the country with the fastest Protestant growth in the world (averaging over 10% per year)

IGSM began its first classes in Rwanda in 2015. In 2018 there were 67 graduates and currently there are over 200 students enrolled throughout the country

Uganda

Uganda is another country in East Africa that is completely land-locked. It is a country of great diversity with over 30 different languages spoken, while English is the official language. The people of Uganda are recognized as one of the friendliest in all of Africa.

The population of Uganda is growing rapidly and as a result over 50% of the population is under 14 years old.

85% of Ugandans identify themselves as Christians and Christianity is continuing to grow rapidly, particularly among Pentecostal groups.

IGSM has several groups that are interested in starting our training in Uganda. The current plan is to begin in 2019.

United States

Graduation Crowd Revised.jpg

The average annual tuition for graduate theological degrees in the U.S. is about $15,000. Because IGSM does not own or rent buildings and uses adjunct faculty instead of full- time faculty, we can offer a high-quality program for about 20% of the national figure.

IGSM currently has individual students taking our courses online. They are supervised by a mentor who connects with them regularly by phone, Skype or in-person. These students normally complete a B.Min. degree in about 2 ½ years and the M.Min. or D.Min. in 2 years.
