Ethiopia

Ethiopia is the second largest country in Africa by population. Ethiopians are very proud of the fact that it is the only African country never to have been brought under colonial control.

In 2000 Ethiopia was considered the third-poorest country in the world. However, what has happened since is nothing short of miraculous. It is currently the third-fastest growing country in the world economically.

Ethiopia was one of the first sub-Saharan African countries to adopt Christianity and traces its roots to the first century. Today Ethiopia has one of the fastest growth rates  for Protestant churches in the world. Pentecostal Christianity has grown from about 1 percent in 1960 to over 25% today.
